Friends of the Library

The Friends of Bancroft Public Library is a volunteer-based organization that provides support to this library.

In general, Friends groups work to:

  • enhance library services,
  • raise funds,
  • advocate for the library, and
  • promote community engagement.

The Friends are distinct from the library’s formal administration but work closely with library staff and the library board.

Specifically, the Friends of Bancroft Library help in the following ways. They:

  • sponsor many of the programs that happen at the library,
  • help pay for new computers and technology needs,
  • often provide food for events (like the Senior Potluck),
  • assist with funding for materials for programs, the makerspace, and more!

How do the Friends raise funds to support library needs? Bancroft Library’s Friends group holds an annual holiday wreath sale and collects annual dues from community members who support the Friends group.

Bancroft Library’s Friends group is amazing, and we are fortunate to have them support Bancroft Public Library.
